PIC – legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment is implementing an international project titled Environment, Rights, Children – ENRICH. It comprises part of the European Union program CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values).

The project aims to raise awareness about the interaction between the rights of children and the climate crisis and how to implement the right of children to have a voice in climate and environmental matters.

The project involves nine international partners. The main beneficiary of the project is Justice & Environment. Its members from Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, and Slovenia, and a non-member from Hungary will implement the project in 2024–2026.

The project will research the awareness of key stakeholders regarding the rights of children in environmental and climate policy-making and training of stakeholders about the rights of children to participation as well as its enforcement. The main activities of the project will encompass:

  • international conferences on the participation of children in national and EU policy-making;
  • training of NGOs and child rights experts about the rights of children in environmental protection;
  • training of environmental educators, NGOs in education, and official bodies on the participatory rights of children.

We communicate individual steps of the project on PIC’s website and Facebook page.

The project is funded by the EU.
