“Glas ljudstva” initiative is a broad network of more than 100 civil society organisations (including PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment). The initiative was created in response to the 2022 elections to encourage people to participate as much as possible and to focus the election campaign on issues that matter to people.
During Covid epidemic and the last government of Janez Janša, it became clear that a normally functioning parliamentary democracy and the representation of the people’s interests by political parties in Slovenia are most certainly not a given fact.
Within the initiative PIC and Legal Network for the Protection of Democracy coordinate two fields: “More democracy and reform of the political system” and “Rule of Law and Human Rights”.
