Nature for Climate
Together with DOPPS – BirdLife Slovenia PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment works on a project called Nature for climate (“Narava za podnebje”). Campaign before EU elections 2024
“Spremljaj_spreminjaj EU” campaign scrutinised statements and publications by the Slovenian MEP candidates during the 2024 EU election campaign. We checked the veracity of statements made by the MEP candidates on migration, human rights and rule of law. Moreover, we assessed whether their words were false, misleading or even malicious. Strategic Litigation and Environmental Rights – STELLAR Rights aims to raise awareness among the Slovenian public on the application of the rights enshrined in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in the field of climate and energy policy. Read more ->
ENRICH
This international project aims to raise awareness about the interaction between the rights of children and the climate crisis and how to implement the right of children to have a voice in climate and environmental matters. Read more ->
LINK
LINK – Linking Information for Adaptive and Accessible Child-Friendly Courts aims to improve the accessibility and integration of child protection systems in criminal proceedings involving children, especially children with intellectual and/or psychosocial disabilities. We aim for a decision-making process that is adapted to disability, age and gender – all with the aim of protecting and supporting child victims. Read more ->
COAST
General objective of the CO.A.ST project is to improve support for legal guardians of unaccompanied and separated children according to their specific needs, in order to ensure a prompt access to the rights they are entitled to and to assist their transition to adulthood. DACE
Lead by Justice & Environment Discussions and Actions on Climate and Environment (DACE) project unites 6 non-governmental organisations from Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Spain and Slovenia. The project focuses on climate change adaptation and climate rights. It aims to raise awarness among citizens of EU countries about EU policies, climate change legislation and climate rights. Legal Network for the Protection of Democracy
The Legal Network for the Protection of Democracy (“Pravna mreža za varstvo demokracije”) came about from the need in Slovenian society to monitor, offer tools for understanding and to protect the rule of law in times of global pandemic of corona-virus. Read more ->
European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE)
European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) is an alliance of 127 organisations in 40 countries with a secretariat in Brussels. PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment joined it in 2017. As part of the Asylum Information Database (AIDA), we produce annual reports on the asylum system in Slovenia. We are also member of European Legal Network for Asylum (ELENA). Read more ->
UNHCR – Counseling and Representation for Asylum Seekers
We provide free legal help and representation to asylum seekers in the international protection procedure and, once granted, in the family reunification procedure. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, we also provide free information and legal help to persons with temporary protection in Slovenia. Read more ->
CROSIIT
CROSIIT network consists of NGOs that monitor violations of the fundamental human rights of people fleeing and their access to the asylum process. Read more ->
“Glas ljudstva” initiative
“Glas ljudstva” initiative includes more than 100 Slovenian NGOs, including PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and Environment. Within initiative PIC covers topics, such as rule of law, human rights and democracy. Read more ->

National Preventive Mechanism – cooperation with Ombudsman
In cooperation with Ombudsman PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment carries out preventive visits to places of deprivation of liberty to check the treatment of persons deprived of their liberty. Read more ->
Legal Clinic for Refugees and Foreigners

CP4 Europe
CP4EUROPE – Strengthening National Child Participation Frameworks and Action in Europe aims to contribute to the promotion of children’s rights to participate at national and pan-European levels in accordance with Council of Europe standards and tools in this area. Read more ->
ENS – European Network on Statelessness
Statelessness is still an issue in Slovenia. Within the ENS network, we provide legal advice and representation to stateless people and we pay special attention to children. Read more ->

The project Enabling inclusion and access to justice for defendants with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities (ENABLE) aims to promote access to justice and fairer criminal proceedings for defendants with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities in 8 EU countries. Read more ->
Ć – Strategic Litigation Against Hate Speech
The project addresses hate speech directed against the inhabitants who were erased from the register of permanent residents in 1992 and against the authors of the Ć-shaped monument erected in the Park of the Erased in the premises of the former Rog factory. Read more ->
